Waltham, MA— RTN’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is taking place during the month of November. Staff and members are collecting food in communities where RTN branches are located to help make sure families in need can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.

RTN’s Waltham branch provides a complete Thanksgiving dinner for four Waltham families.  As in past years, Tom Scafidi, owner of the Common Café in Waltham, is donating the turkeys, and RTN is collecting the rest.

WPS Superintendent Dr Echelson's Letter to Faculty & Staff: "The Day After"

November 9, 2016 - The day after a turbulent campaign season, Waltham Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Drew Echelson distributed a letter to staff and faculty about how to be prepared for certain situations if they should arise.  This letter was such an inspiration we asked his permission to post it here.  So without any edits, following is Dr. Echelson's letter:

Election Day Bake Sales: Support Waltham's PTOs

Some American traditions of the 20th century are timeless.  We remember the PTA Bake Sales of the 60's with fondness and a wisp of nostalgia!  With the expected high turnout of voters, Many Waltham Public Schools PTOs are geared up and ready for the traditional bake sales (and more) you will find at several polling places on Election Day.  If you're one of the approximately 8,000 voters who cast their ballots during the early voting period, please consider stopping by a bake sale and lend your support to these organizations (at least you won't have to wait in line).
