The Waltham 6+: Happening This Week Nov 20 - Nov 26

Well, we're heading into the home stretch before the official start of the Holiday Season.  While you're frantically preparing for that Thanksgiving Feast, take a little time for yourself to enjoy the good things this community has to offer!  Though the Waltham Calendar is a little light this week, there are a few things happening which are worth your consideration.  Oh, and by the way, have a Happy Thanksgiving!  We're thankful to all of you who have supported what we're trying to do!  So, let's take a look at what's happening in the next week:

  • Last Weekend: Waltham's Hovey Players present Neil LaBute's "Reasons to be Pretty".  There are several dates and show times.  If you haven't experienced the Hovey Players, give yourself an early holiday gift!
  • Friday: 7:00 PM Brandeis New Music: Undergraduates Composers'' Collective.  FREE and open to the public, Brand New Music / New Music Brandeis is a contemporary music concert series that showcases the work of Brandeis student composers.
  • Saturday: 1:00 PM  RAW Series 4th Annual "Piggy's Run" in support of  the Paul Logue Charitable Fund.  Festivities are all based at the new City Streets, 411 Waverley Oaks Road.  If you haven't been to the new City Streets yet, Saturday may be a great day to do so!
  • Sunday: 10:00 AM A breakfast program with Rabbi Moshe Waldoks: “A Short History of Jewish Humor” at Temple Beth Israel, Waltham.
  • Sunday: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM Waltham Handmade: A Holiday Craft Market.  Waltham Handmade is a craft show featuring the unique work of local artists.
  • Tuesday: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Take a break from the kitchen and get your creative mojo going at the Gore Place Thanksgiving Centerpiece Workshop.  No experience needed!   Learn from the best, Scott Clarke, noted floral designer.  Only a few spots remain open.
  • Tuesday: 7:00 PM The Waltham Zoning Board of Appeals meets to continue their hearing from September 15th on the Antico Tower on Prospect Hill.  For supporters of the Waltham Land Trust and those who love the open spaces Waltham has to offer, this is an important hearing.  Though it's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, there's no better way to say thank you to all the environmentalists who have worked their tails off to ensure the conservancy of our natural resources. Have a safe and happy holiday.  Remember those who are less fortunate this week and share your gratitude with them.  We';re all in this together!  As usual, we'll be Tweeting other interesting events during the week.  Check our Waltham Calendar to view all your options!  If you want to submit an event to our calendar, just click on the "Submit an Event" bar at the bottom of any calendar page!

This calendar's success depends on all of us working together.  Your input and participation is vital to keep it going.  Thank you to all those who have helped spread the word about the calendar and the work we are doing.  Special thanks go to Watertown Savings Bank (corporate sponsor), Moody Street Dental, Shopper's Cafe, The Pub (premium business sponsors) and RTN Federal Credit Union (business sponsor) - without their support we would not have been able to come this far.  If you would like to become a business sponsor, send us an email.  We'll be glad to answer your questions.
