Celebrating the latest in the HBI Series on Jewish Women, The Strangers We Became, HBI invites author, Cynthia Kaplan Shamash, for a discussion.
An expert on the Iraqi-Jewish archive and diaspora, Cynthia Kaplan Shamash, has spoken widely on her experiences before the United Nations, in a New York Times op-ed and has been quoted in NPR’s Here and Now, the PBS special, The Jewish Journey: America and numerous articles. Shamash was elected in 2011 to the board of the World Organization of Jews from Iraq. She currently owns her own dental practice in New York City where she resides with her husband and five children.
A special dessert of Iraqi pastries will be served.
