Join us on January 18 for a special 30 minute tour highlighting rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor and the costumes of the time.
Thin cotton dresses in New England winters? Check! Tiny corsets? Check! Restrictive jackets? Check! View the trendy outfits of Gore’s time and see how they suffered for fashion.
“…many a fashionable regency woman wearing a thin muslin gown covered by only a Norwich shawl would  catch a deadly cold or pneumonia from wearing such inadequate covering. This phenomenon was so common in the early part of the 19th century that it was termed “the muslin disease.”
Tours depart every 30 minutes from 10-12:30 (last tour at 12:30). $8 admission, $4 for children 5-12.
