Support Waltham Fields Community Farm in the Ride For Food!
Join our team in the Ride For Food on Sunday, September 25th! All rides end at lunchtime so we can celebrate together with lunch, music, and a raffle with GREAT prizes!
Visit the Waltham Fields Community Farm fundraising page to join the team or donate.
Who? Bike Riders! Choose from a 10, 25, or 50-mile ride along beautiful roads made for bike riding! For a beginner-friendly ride, choose the 10-mile route--most can complete this in about 1.5 hours--or challenge yourself and sign up for the 25 or 50 mile routes. Breakfast, lunch, & snacks provided! Riders aged 14+ are welcome. Registration is $75 and goes toward Ride expenses.
Local food for everyone: All riders are asked to fundraise at least $1,000. Those that would like to fundraise together may create a family or household team. Email Shannon for details on how to create a household team. The funds you raise for Waltham Fields make organic, local food accessible to all!
How does fundraising work? Each rider gets a personal fundraising webpage to make your own. Most people reach their goals by asking their friends, family, and co-workers to contribute. Others get sponsorships from their employers or throw dinner parties & yard sales to collect donations. Waltham Fields will provide lots of support to help! Want to fundraise without riding? Registration is free for virtual riders-- folks who want a personal fundraising page to help us raise $15,000, but who do not plan to ride.
Where? Rides begin and end at Noble & Greenough School, 10 Campus Drive, Dedham, MA.
When? Sunday, September 25, 2016. 7 am--10:30 am: Rides begin. Start time depends on which route you choose. 12 noon--1:30 pm: Rides end. Festive lunch & party for riders & their families!
How can I ride that distance? The Waltham Fields team will help you reach your goal! We will have bike tune-ups on the farm, training tips and a meet at the farm for a couple of practice rides with refreshments after you return!
Why ride? Waltham Fields believes that everyone should have access to local, organic food. All of the proceeds from the Ride For Food will help fund our many food access and assistance programs. Join us today and give local food to all!
Note: Registration starts at 6:45 and 7:30 for the two 50 mile rides, 8:15 for the 25 mile ride and 9:15 for the 10 mile ride. Light breakfast, water stops, music, t-shirts and lunch all provided along with free raffle.
