Event Description: 

Lifelong Waltham resident Corporal Robert Campbell Dakin went missing on December 12, 1950 while in service to our country during the Korean War.  Three years later he was promoted to sergeant and was officially listed as killed in action, body not recovered.
Last December, Sergeant Dakin's body was finally returned home where he was received and celebrated for his heroism in service to his country by an outpouring of supoport and gratitude from his native community.  On Saturday June 4, 2016, Sergeant Robert Campbell Dakin would have been 88 years old.  The City of Waltham will honor him with the Sergeant Robert C. Dakin Square Dedication:
