Please join us from August 10th - August 15th, as "The Moving Wall" Vietnam Veterans Memorial visits Waltham! "The Moving Wall" is a half-sized replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial. John Devitt, a Vietnam veteran from California, possessed the vision and dedication to his fellow Vietnam veterans that made this memorial a reality. When Devitt attended the Opening Ceremonies of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington in 1982, he vowed to bring the experience he had to all those not able to go to Washington. Together with Norris Shears, Gerry Haver, and other Vietnam veteran volunteers, he built "The Moving Wall", and we are grateful. The name of those who gave their lives and of those who remain missing are inscribed in the order they were taken from us. The Moving Wall will be available for viewing 24 hours per day during its time at Gore Place, Waltham. Various ceremonies are planned and will be posted soon.
