Event Description:

Waltham Connect is offered twice a year by First Parish in Waltham. Over the past few years we have explored several topics of interest to our congregation and the Waltham community. On March 29th from 7-9 pm in the Chapel, we look at the issues of multiculturalism and economic equity. We will explore how immigrants and people of color are affected economically in terms of employment, education, housing, access to services, and more. There will be time to engage in conversations with other participants and learn from panelists. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the conversations. Child care will be provided.
Our panelists will be:

  • Rev. Thomas St. Louis of the New Covenant of Cambridge Haitian Church
  • Ben Kreider, a PhD student at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis. In his research, he studies how low-wage workers in the U.S, particularly immigrants and workers of color, organize to build power.
