Walk the "newest" section of the Western Greenway Trail with representatives from the WLT, Friends of Stonenhurst and Healthy Waltham. The Waltham Land Trust is recreating its popular series of walks along the Western Greenway that we did last summer, this time going in reverse (from "newest" to "oldest" sections). Trek the most recently built part (fall 2012) from the Stonehurst parking lot to Beaver Street (~1 mile round trip) and continue to celebrate National Trails Day while discovering the historic beauty of the forests, fields, rocks and hills of Stonehurst and the surrounding Storer Conservation Lands. There will also be a guided walk around the mansion exterior. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle. Co-sponsored by the Waltham Land Trust, Healthy Waltham (celebrating 10 years of free community walks), the Friends of Stonehurst, and the City of Waltham.
