If you’re considering buying a home or condo, become an informed consumer by attending “How to Buy a Home” on April 27, 6:30-8:30 PM at the Waltham Public Library. Presented by the Waltham Public Library and WATCH CDC during Money Smart Week, the event will feature four panelists, each providing solid information to prospective homebuyers to help them navigate the sometimes complex process of purchasing a home, including obtaining a mortgage, choosing the right home, assuring the soundness of that home and finding a lawyer to help close the deal.
Timothy Tuttle from East Cambridge Savings Bank, Realtor Annette Reynolds from Keller Williams Realty, attorney Stephen Kearney from the Rogaris Law Office and Certified Home Inspector Sally Wetzler of Inspector Homes will provide a brief overview of what buyers can expect from them, and will be able to answer your questions about this pivotal life investment.
Tim Tuttle has over 35 years of banking experience. His expertise includes all areas of lending, including purchases, condominium conversions, construction financing, affordable housing programs and various specialized loans, tailored to an individual’s needs. Tim coordinates and speaks at the Bank’s First Time Buyer Seminars which are offered throughout the year at various branch locations. He also a regular speaker at CHAPA approved workshops whose graduates may be eligible for low cost mortgages and/or down payment assistance from various municipalities.
As an ASHI Certified Home Inspector, Sally Wetzler combines her 37 years experience as a Building Contractor with 22 years of home inspections to inform prospective buyers about their potential purchase. She has taught first time homebuying classes at both WATCH and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, and is committed to thoroughly investigating a property, as well as helping buyers get a better understanding of their new home.
Annette Reynolds has been a Realtor for over 10 years. For much of that time she coordinated the First Time Homebuyers Classes at WATCH CDC. She also speaks to first time buyers at other agencies offering the CHAPA First Time Homebuyers Classes including Urban Edge and Nuestra Comunidad. She works with buyers and sellers and is an approved Real Estate Instructor in Massachusetts.
Stephen Kearney is an attorney at the Rogaris Law Office in Waltham. He is also a frequent presenter at First Time Homebuyer Classes in Waltham and nearby communities. He specializes in real estate law, representing both buyers and sellers.
