Waltham is home to multiple esteemed universities and schools – Bentley University, Brandeis University and The Center for Digital Arts. Embassy Park, a public urban park on Moody Street is a popular gathering place in the heart of the city and is only a short walk to the parks and pathways of the Charles River Reservation. Prospect Park at 322 Totten Pond Road is set on 252 acres with stunning views of Boston. On a clear day, look to the west and you may even be able to see New Hampshire’s Mount Monadnock.
In addition to the many colleges and parks, Waltham hosts a couple of major events every year. The Watch City Steam Punk Festival is an all day event that takes place on the Waltham common, directly across from Margaritas! The event has something for everyone and features music, films, vintage displays, kids activities, performance, parties and more. And, if we weren’t lucky enough to have The Watch City Steam Punk Festival in our front yard, we also have the wildly popular Riverfest. Going into its 9th year, the annual summer festival includes music, canoe and kayaking activities, and a pet parade!
With 50 outdoor dining tables overlooking the Charles River, Margaritas Waltham is a popular summer spot for locals and visitors alike. If you happen to be visiting on a Tuesday in July or August, come in for an early dinner and then head over to the Waltham common where the summer concert series takes place with shows starting at 7pm. Many visitors to Boston also find that Waltham serves as a less expensive accommodation alternative when compared to the steep Boston hotel prices, with easy access to the major city.
Next time you are in town, be sure to stop by Margaritas Waltham where we have a full Mexican inspired menu and a beautiful view of the Charles River. We can’t wait to see you!
