The Waltham Lions Club created the Waltham HERO Awards to recognize local hero's in the city of Waltham who very rarely get any recognition. These are people who volunteer their time to make Waltham a better place to live, work and play. There are three award categories: Business Hero, Community Hero and Unsung Hero.
Mayor McCarthy and Consuelo Valdes, chair of the Waltham Cultural Council, have announced the award of 40 grants totaling $27,825.00, for cultural programs in Waltham.
