It's been a few weeks since the Preliminary Municipal Election and the results could be a precursor of things to come in November.  Though turnout was low in Ward 5 and even lower in Ward 8 (which is no surprise), three candidates familiar to Waltham voters were eliminated.  There will be new faces sitting in the Council seats for Wards 5 and 8.  In Ward 1, however, incumbent Councilor Dan Romard's two challengers staged robust campaigns which brought out almost 22% of Ward 1 registered voters.  Two years ago incumbent Ward Councilors faced no opposition.  This year 8 out of the 9 Ward Coun

Waltham — (October 10, 2017 ) Over 60 people from the community attended an open discussion at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation Monday night concerning the Cooper St development and subsequent arson on the site. The discussion was organized by Consuelo Valdes, Ward 9 candidate for the Waltham City Council, and a group of local residents. The goals of the meeting were to identify how we got to our current situation, what we can do about it, and how we can improve in the future.

WALTHAM, MA - Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a non-profit provider of rehabilitative services, short-term and long-term care located in Waltham, Massachusetts, recently announced that they will be conducting their 9th Annual Fall Marketplace on Friday, September 22nd from 1:00-6:00pm, and on Saturday, September 23rd from 9:00am-12:00pm.
As in previous years, the Marketplace fundraiser will take place in early Fall, with the raffle drawing set to begin on Saturday the 23rd.

Waltham Hawks Seek Donations for New Dugouts Honoring Al Scafidi

The Waltham High School Baseball program is seeking donations from the Waltham Community to build new dugouts at Leary Field.  The dugouts will be will be named in honor of Al Scafidi who was the Waltham High Baseball coach from 1979-1993.  Al gave a lot of time and effort to the community during his tenure and his family name has been a mainstay in Waltham Baseball.  The money you donate will help with supplies, labor costs and any other cost the program may run into.  If you are willing to make a donation please send a check to: Waltham Hawks Baseball, 28 Sartell Road, Waltham MA 02451.
