Join the Charles River Watershed Association, Hardy Pond Association, and Waltham Land Trust to learn how to make your own rain barrel out of a recycled syrup drum! Rain barrels are a great way to capture rainwater during a downpour and save it to put to good use on a sunny, dry day. Storing rainwater locally also helps prevent pollution and flooding in streams, rivers, and ponds.
To participate in this workshop, you will need:
- A square gutter located on the exterior of a building. This can be a home, school, business, etc.
- A vehicle capable of transporting a 55-gallon syrup drum.
- A drill; preferrably cordless (You can borrow a drill at the workshop, but will probably need to use one again when you install your barrel on your property).
If you are interested in this program, but unable to attend the workshop, please contact the host!
This workshop is made possible through the support of the Coca Cola bottling facility in Needham, MA and River Network.
***If you choose the "Free" ticket type, please bring a $25 donation to the event.***
